When thinking about the firearm business and how it has evolved in the past 20 years I tend to get a little nostalgic. As a kid i thought of hunting with my father and brothers. Cool, crisp mornings full of talking about who is going to shoot the biggest deer or down the most pheasants. As an adult, that nostalgia has shifted from memories of the past to thoughts of the future.
I think back to pioneers of the industry like Scott, good men who shaped what we do into what it is today. When Blake or myself get asked why we bought a rifle company from Scott, we didn’t have an answer for a time, other than the opportunity presented itself. When we get asked now, we would both tell you its about friendship, passing the torch and continuing a legacy to build on and make our own path in the world.

Changing of the guard:
When touring the Western Hunt Expo in Salt Lake City this past winter, we got to meet industry pro’s from all walks of life and specialties. One of the things that stood out to us was the amount of younger folks that have entered the profession. The next generation is beginning to take the reins, moving firearms and hunting sports alike into a new age, one of technology, innovation and acceptance. The amount of respect felt for our predecessor and his generation of firearms builders, hunters, anglers and sportsman can’t be placed into a simple blog post. But through their hard work our way of life and the things we love continue on, so to them, I say thank you.
On that note, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who have supported Blake and myself through our first year as the new owners of Specialized Dynamics. Its had it challenges, but we wouldn’t change it for the world. You, as a customer have such an amazing role in what we do and what we stand for. Our phone is always on, and we would like nothing more than to hear from you, even if just to chat, say hello, help us get to know as many of you wonderful people as we can. At the end of the day, we wouldn’t be where we are without each and every one of you. We hope that we can be a positive change in our industry and in your successes as a hunter. As members of the next generation, we look forward to growing and being better, paying homage to the way things were and bringing new ideas to light.
Thank you,
The New Guys
